This isn’t a trip about ticking off as many sights as possible.
Over three days, we’ll hike through the mountains, wander through beautiful Huizhou villages, ride through the countryside, and get hands-on with a traditional local craft.
We’ll visit famous places like Hongcun and Chengkan, but we’ll also leave plenty of room for the little things along the way — a quiet country road, an old house we happen to pass, a small bookshop, or a view that makes us want to stop for a while.
From the mountains to the villages, and from the villages into the countryside.
Three days. Three different ways to experience Huizhou.
Day By Day Itinerary
Take a morning high-speed train from Shanghai to Huangshan and begin the journey with an afternoon hike through Qiyun Mountain, surrounded by forests, red-rock landscapes and mountain views.
After the hike, slow things down with a peaceful bamboo raft ride, followed by an evening stroll around Xiaoyao Street for local food and nighttime performances.
Overnight · Huangshan
Start the day in Hongcun, exploring its lakes, old lanes and traditional Huizhou houses.
After lunch, hop on an electric bike and ride from Hongcun through the countryside towards Bishan and Pingshan — passing fields, old villages, local bookshops and beautiful rural scenery along the way.
In the evening, head to Chengkan and stay after dark to experience the ancient village by night.
Overnight · Huangshan
Spend the final morning learning to make Yuting Cake, a traditional local specialty, and enjoy a hands-on taste of Huizhou culture.
Afterwards, enjoy a relaxed lunch or some free time before taking the high-speed train back to Shanghai.
