OUR STORY
A little curiosity can take you somewhere unexpected.
We started Find Charm in China because we wanted to help travelers discover more of the places we know and love — from Shanghai, Hangzhou and Suzhou to the cities, towns and countryside around them.
This part of China is home to some truly beautiful and iconic places. West Lake, Suzhou’s classical gardens, the Bund and the old water towns are all special in their own way, and we think they’re absolutely worth experiencing.
But there’s also so much more to discover.
Some of our favorite travel moments happen in the quieter places — walking through the tea hills around Hangzhou, hiking a trail with a beautiful view, wandering through a neighborhood where everyday life carries on, or finding a tiny local restaurant we’d happily return to again and again.
That’s the kind of travel we love most: going somewhere with a little curiosity, slowing down, and seeing what we find along the way.
And that’s what inspired Find Charm in China.
Here, we share places we’ve explored ourselves — from famous sights and local favorites to hiking trails, food, neighborhoods and small discoveries that might not make it into every travel guide.
If it’s your first time here, we’d be happy to help you experience the classics. And if you’d rather wander a little further, spend a day in the mountains, explore somewhere quieter, or get a glimpse of everyday local life, we’d love to share that side with you too.
